If I’m staying at Ballynahinch Castle, can I check in prior to the ceremony?
If you are arriving on December 4th, you will be welcome to check in and drop your bags, but you may not have access to your room until after their 4pm check-in time.

How can I pass the time between events? 

If you have a little time to spare over the wedding weekend, Ballynahinch Castle is set within a beautiful 700-acre estate, with plenty to explore without ever having to leave the grounds.

There are approximately 16km of walking trails winding through ancient woodland, along the river and lakeshore, which guests are welcome to explore at their own pace. Guided estate walks and more adventurous guided hikes into the surrounding Connemara landscape can also be arranged.

For something a little more indulgent, the castle’s Woodland Saunas sit tucked away amongst the trees overlooking the lake. Sessions last one hour, with a cold plunge for the brave!

We recommend booking activities in advance, particularly the sauna and guided experiences. Once at the castle, the reception and activities team will also be very happy to advise on walks and anything available during your stay.
